VISITORS

Yes I know, I've been blogging for quite a while now & I still can't get pix on in correct order! Whatev. So we've had lots of visitors lately, the most recent being my brother & my mom. Just the adults went out to eat & while we were eating this huge grasshopper hops next to my brother who proceeds to catch it & pretends to throw it @ me which causes everyone else to bust up but I close my eyes & start pushing on the hubby to get out of the booth. He starts laughing harder & pushes me back into the booth all the while my sweet brother continues to torture me with this massive grasshopper who refused to die by the way. Brothers...they stay the same even after they 'grow up'.

We introduced these super yummy gorditas to him, whenever we moved he & I would always be the one to scope out fun places to eat.

Kiddies on post.

The Nativity on post, the kids love to pass it after swimming when its all lit up. The tree its under is decorated with red bells, lots of lights & a big lighted star on top.

The slide @ the pool on post. Of course the hubby & my bro broke about 7 rules doing things you're not supposed to but they had a good time.

Me & The Ladies Man.

The Ladies Man & his uncle.

I forgot how funny my brother is....it was great to laugh & cut loose with him & my mom.

Here is my first visitor to the great state of Texas! She came down so we could go see Twilight together on its openiong night. The lines were so long @ the theatres & they actually had policemen there. Some teenagers snuck in ahead of us and she cracked me up. She went right up to them, told them not to cut in her teachers voice and pointed them to the back...you go girl! There was lots of sleeping in and every morning she came in & slept with me....i love that girl! She is holding a hawaiin shave ice that she said felt like air. By the way thats a small shes holding. They are super yummy with lots of flavor.

Her fave place to eat was at The Little Diner where they have the gorditas.

Bowling on post. Hes got his game face on.

Before the game. The Ladies Man & my sis loved the music so much they danced the whole time. If you haven't seen her moves ask her to shake it. Seriously its hilaious. She'll do it too, shes that kind of gal :).

Theres this super awesome dress store I love....you all know what a sucker I am for a pretty dress....she got this one because it looks like Barbies dress from the Swan Lake movie.

We found some 'burros' @ Old El Paso that she decided to feed. I am so glad my family came to see me, I'm not gonna lie, theres been some rough days since moving from the city that I love but this sure made it easier!

They really do grow up too fast!

I just can't believe how fast shes growing up! Spencer has learned through a few tears to carefully think before he says anything that could be considered negative, which totally makes me laugh to see the confusion on his face....what did I say?! the look on his face says. We love our sweet girl. She is in choir & middle school this year & we got her a pre paid cell phone that she can only call us on. Some mom said to me we don't believe in cell phones & I was like did I ask your opinion? Seriously, why do people think they can get in your business? Anyway, I digress. My point is I can now see why people say they grow up fast.

WE LOVE JARED!!!

Spencers brother Jared came down for Halloween. Miss E was so happy to see him she started crying when we pulled up @ the airport. The Ladies Man had fallen asleep so when Jared carried him in I said who's carrying you. He looked up & said Daddy.
Spencer has always worked the night shift so Uncle Jared has saved almost all of our Halloweens by taking the kids trick-or-treating & he didn't want to break with tradition so he came to El Paso! We really missed seeing Mel though :( We had a zombie, pirate & ninja this year. The ladies man was the zombie & he would go up to the door & say more brains please!

We took him to our fave eating spots so I hope we sent him home full & happy!

SICK POK-E-MON MASTER :(

So poor POk-e-mon, it has literally been a nightmarish 3 weeks. So 3 weeks ago he woke up with a barking cough & trouble breathing. We go to the pediatrician-who I had just randomly looked up off or new insurance. We get there & I am checking in & the doctor walks by, stops & walks us back himself. While he is walking he tells his nurse to call 911. We start him on oxygen, his sats are in the 70's (oxygen level), give him steroid shots. So then 3 firemen come in and take over and give each other 'a look'. So the doctor pulls me outside and says your son is going to die if we don't get him to the hospital. Oh my heck, don't cry I'm thinking. I am also thinking, way to go mother of the year, you've killed your son. Finally the paramedics arrive, the ladies man in excited to ride in the ambulance & I am frantically trying to find someone who might possibly know where my husband is. I finally get a hold of him we get to the hospital where hes stabilized. The next day we're back in his office where he is put on oxygen. The day after that hes admitted to the hospital. Welcome to El Paso!

This is Spence trying to distract him from getting an IV. Apparently my kids have non-existent veins. He says they are 'hard sticks'. Anyhoo we get home, 3 doctor visits later hes admitted to the picu. Near death experiences:4. The last one happened while I was on top of a mountain pass. He started having an attack, trouble breathing so of course he starts to cry which just makes it worse. I broke the law and ran about 4 lights, after I fully stopped, I didn't want to get in an accident on my way to the hospital. After 20 billion tests we really have no diagnosis.
The good news is we found a great pediatric pulmonologist who put him on new meds & he actually went to school for 2 1/2 days last week. Big thanks & hugs to all of you for your support.

HEY Y'ALL!

Well, we made it! Please forgive the order of the pixs, I forgot how to enter them...my fault for not blogging in forever I guess! As you can see we are in El Paso Texas, home of Ft. Bliss. We got here a few weeks ago after a thrilling 18 hour car ride...did you catch the sarcasm? First off, El Paso is HUGE, way bigger than I thought it was going to be.
Second, I thought the Rio Grande that separated El Paso from Juarez Mexico was going to be a large river......its about 1/2 the width of the Truckee. I think I could jump it if I wanted too. We are not allowed to go to Juarez since we are military, not that I'd want to go anyway but there is a temple there so I'm bummed we have to go to Albuquerque instead. There is a very tall, very long wall going the length of El Paso & Border Patrol everywhere. Needless to say quite a change from Reno.

Here's my man in uniform....side note, I LOVE a man in uniform ;). Even thought he's a nurse he has to wear that to work every day, sans gun. He is loving the army & its been so nice to see him excited about work & what hes doing.

This is our new house. Since I always wonder & want details here's the scoop: 4 bedrooms, 2000 sq. ft, corner lot, 2 car garage, 13 years old. The kids are totally excited to have their own rooms, except for The Ladies Man, he doesn't like to sleep alone :(. Yes that is a swamp cooler on top of the house. I thought since it got so hot here in the summer they would have air conditioning but about 98% of the house have swamp coolers which they call evaporative coolers. There are 3 levels of swamp coolers, we have the lowest...boo. Looks like Spence is going to be buying me a couple of window ac's next summer! Its so weird to see brand new $300,000 homes with 2 swamp coolers on top of the house with hoses coming down. We love our neighborhood & the kids schools are all within walking distance which is a nice change for me, I used to drive 20 minutes each way 2-3 times a day. The kids like school although they go to school from 8-3:15, an extra hour & 15 minutes. Yeah for the extra time, boo on having to get up @ 7. As you all know we are not morning people. They have all joined the swim team on post & are having a good time meeting new friends and getting that excess energy out.

When men feel bad or guilty they tend to be extra sweet. In this case my man felt bad he moved me from my family so what did he do???? Got me this fab new entertainment center for our newest baby, the tv. You know how I love my U-verse, which is what we had to get instead of Dish. I told Spence I wouldn't move if we had to move into an apartment or if I had to give up my premium show packages or if I had to give up air conditioning.....don't you judge me!

I'm so glad he's back, 9 weeks is a long time.

So of course we have found yummy places to eat. This is a bar-b-que joint that was so good we had to be rolled out when we were done.

The burger was as big as his face which he thought was hilarious.

Yes, that rib is longer than her head & yes she ate it all. That's The Ladies Man with a sausage clenched in his grubby little hand.

The walls were all decorated like this, can you say too cute?! They had homemade ice cream that brought smiles all around.

The kids have been glued to Spence, I'm not gonna lie I have too :)

We went to the downtown El Paso library where they have a fab kids section and Pokemon Master found his dream chess set.

The boys at the apt. after a long day of house hunting.

Me my mom, & 2 sisters @ my fab going away party...thanx girls! It was so great to see everyone, we are so blessed to have such great friends that bless our lives in so many different ways. That was definitely the hardest part, leaving friends & family but the support everyone showed made the move easier knowing we had tons of people in our corner :)

Spence & his fave 2 brother-in-laws.

Me & my girls, miss ya ladies!

I just thought we both looked foxy in this one so I put it in ;)

Traci made me not 1, but 2 of her famous, super yummy peach pie & Amber brought my fave dessert of hers that she makes and she even made the Texas flag on it....so cute! Thanx Amber & Traci!
